 A photo in Luftwaffe im Focus Spezial No.3 shows this Bf109G-6 at Siwerskaya around late August or early September 1943. On September 3rd Hans Leiter went missing in a Bf109G-6 marked "Weisse 1" with the Wrk.Nr 15986. Given the proximity in time and the fact that the aircraft wears a camoflage typical of Erla machines and that the Wrk.Nr. 15986 indeed comes from Erla it's almost certainly the aircraft that Hans Leiter flew when he went missing. |
